Lead Field Service Engineer

Established provider of recycling and waste machinery solutions; supplies, installs and maintains specialist equipment across the UK. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Field Service Engineer to step into a senior technical role within a specialist engineering business, combining hands-on engineering responsibilities with technical leadership and support across a nationwide customer base.

Responsibilities

Provide technical support to field engineers, assisting with complex fault diagnosis and troubleshooting; Install, commission, service and repair recycling and waste machinery at customer sites; Diagnose and resolve electrical, hydraulic and mechanical faults efficiently and safely; Carry out welding and fabrication repairs where required; Support continuous improvement initiatives, technical documentation and engineering best practices

Requirements

Minimum five years’ experience working on recycling, waste or similar industrial machinery; Strong electrical, hydraulic and mechanical fault-finding capabilities; Welding experience is essential, with a practical hands-on approach; Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel nationwide

Nice to have

Previous experience supporting, mentoring or coaching engineers is advantageous; Fabrication experience; Forklift Truck Licence; Experience with balers, compactors or related equipment; Development of engineering procedures or technical documentation; Continuous improvement or process development experience
