Lead Product Designer

We're partnering with a globally recognised consumer brand to find a Lead Product Designer to shape the future of its digital products across web and mobile. This is an opportunity to work on a product used by millions, creating engaging experiences that combine exceptional storytelling, intuitive user journeys and world-class design. Working closely with Product, Engineering, Editorial and Commercial teams, you'll lead complex initiatives from discovery through to delivery, balancing strategic product thinking with outstanding UX and UI craft. As a Lead Product Designer, you'll influence product direction, mentor other designers and help raise the quality of design across the organisation while remaining hands-on throughout the design process. We're looking for someone with strong consumer product experience, exceptional attention to detail and a passion for creating beautifully crafted digital experiences that users genuinely love. They're looking for a Lead Product Designer to join a highly respected product design team, working closely with Product, Engineering, Editorial and Commercial stakeholders to shape premium digital experiences enjoyed by millions of users worldwide. This is an opportunity for a designer who combines strategic product thinking with exceptional visual craft, enjoys solving complex user problems, and wants to influence the future of a market-leading consumer product. You'll work across discovery through to delivery, helping define experiences that balance editorial excellence, business goals and user needs. 4 days per week in their Central London office.

Responsibilities

Leading end-to-end product design from discovery through to delivery and launch; Owning complex user journeys and translating customer insights into intuitive, engaging experiences; Collaborating closely with Product, Engineering, Editorial and Commercial teams to define product strategy and prioritise opportunities; Designing polished, user-centred interfaces with exceptional attention to detail and visual craft; Using research, data and experimentation to inform design decisions and continuously improve the user experience; Contributing to and evolving a scalable design system to ensure consistency across digital products; Mentoring and supporting other designers, helping raise the quality of design across the team; Championing user needs while balancing commercial objectives, editorial priorities and technical constraints; Presenting design work to stakeholders, facilitating feedback and influencing product direction through strong communication and collaboration

Requirements

Proven experience designing end-to-end consumer digital products across web and/or mobile; A strong portfolio demonstrating strategic UX thinking alongside high-quality visual design; Experience leading products from discovery through to delivery, using research, customer insight and data to inform decisions; Strong product thinking, with the ability to balance user needs, business objectives and technical constraints; Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience influencing cross-functional teams; Experience working closely with Product Managers, Engineers and other business stakeholders in agile environments; A passion for creating intuitive, accessible and beautifully crafted user experiences; Experience mentoring designers or leading design initiatives, with the ability to raise the quality of design across a team

Experience within publishing, media, content, subscription or other consumer-facing digital products; Experience designing responsive web and native mobile experiences; Experience contributing to or evolving design systems; Experience working closely with editorial or content teams; An interest in AI and emerging technologies, and how they can enhance product design and user experiences
