The Lift Mechanic is responsible for the maintenance and inspection of ski lifts and related equipment utilized in on-mountain operations. This is a technical position that requires learning all aspects of resort and mountain operations. This position reports to the Lift Maintenance Director.

Responsibilities

Assist in scheduled and unscheduled maintenance of lifts and related equipment; Assist in maintaining maintenance records; Assist in lift operations including operating ski lifts,; Being familiar with location of ski lifts on the mountain; Know how to turn on & operate the lift controls; Run lift on auxiliary or evacuation diesels; Manage maintenance tools and equipment; Assist in daily preventative maintenance inspections; Communicate effectively with co-workers & supervisors about maintenance issues; Update maintenance procedures & maintain records; Develop a working knowledge of the Colorado Passenger Tramway Safety Board (CPTSB) & American National Standards Institute (ANSI) codes pertaining to ski lifts; Other duties as assigned

Requirements

Must be 18 years or older; High School diploma or equivalent preferred; Valid, current, unrestricted driver’s license required; Previous mechanical experience preferred; Ability to communicate and follow oral or written directions in English is required; Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers & supervisors; Ability to work in collaboration with others to achieve team goals; Ability to remain focused, organized, flexible, and detail-oriented; Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner; Follows all safety policies and procedures and exercises caution when working
