Mammography Technologist

At SimonMed, mammography is one of the most consequential things we do. Our Mammography Technologists are essential to delivering the advanced outpatient imaging our patients depend on—and in this modality, the image you produce, the compression you apply, and the way you speak to a patient who is nervous or in pain all matter deeply. From screening and diagnostic mammograms to tomosynthesis, this role ensures every exam meets the highest clinical standards with genuine human care at the center.

Responsibilities

Deliver diagnostic excellence by producing high-quality mammography images with precision, compassion, and confidence; Perform screening and diagnostic mammography, including tomosynthesis, in compliance with ACR, MQSA, and facility protocols; Select correct exposure parameters and apply ALARA principles; Ensure every exam meets the highest clinical standards with genuine human care; Verify patient identity, review medical history, explain procedures clearly, and handle every interaction with dignity and professionalism; Maintain thorough documentation, precise image labeling, and QA work; Manage own workflow in a busy outpatient environment; Mentor students and support the next generation of mammography technologists

Requirements

ARRT certification in Radiography (R) required; ARRT advanced certification in Mammography (M) required; Valid state radiologic technologist license current (where applicable); Current BLS certification; MQSA compliant — 15 breast CEUs every 3 years maintained; Initial mammography training documentation complete (25 signed-off exams); Tomosynthesis and digital training documentation current; Proficiency in digital/tomosynthesis equipment, RIS, and PACS; Perform screening and diagnostic mammography, including tomosynthesis, in full compliance with ACR, MQSA, and facility protocols; Select correct exposure parameters and apply ALARA principles; Maintain thorough documentation, precise image labeling, and QA work; Verify patient identity, review medical history, explain procedures clearly, and handle interactions with dignity; Manage own workflow, keep rooms ready, perform routine quality assurance, maintain equipment, and adapt to schedule shifts; Strong patient communication skills, especially in sensitive situations; Detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working independently; Willingness to mentor students and contribute to a positive clinical culture
