Mammography Technologist

At SimonMed, mammography is one of the most consequential things we do. Our Mammography Technologists are essential to delivering the advanced outpatient imaging our patients depend on—and in this modality, the image you produce, the compression you apply, and the way you speak to a patient who is nervous or in pain all matter deeply.

Responsibilities

Perform screening and diagnostic mammography including tomosynthesis in compliance with ACR, MQSA, and facility protocols; Ensure accurate positioning, optimal compression, and image quality; Select exposure parameters and apply ALARA principles; Verify patient identity, review medical history, explain procedures, and handle interactions with dignity; Manage own workflow in busy outpatient environment, perform QA, maintain equipment, adapt to schedule shifts; Provide hands-on guidance to rotating students and model professionalism

Requirements

ARRT certification in Radiography (R); ARRT advanced certification in Mammography (M); Valid state radiologic technologist license (where applicable); Current BLS certification; MQSA compliant with 15 breast CEUs every 3 years; Initial mammography training documentation complete (25 signed-off exams); Tomosynthesis and digital training documentation current; Proficiency in digital/tomosynthesis equipment, RIS, and PACS; Strong patient communication skills especially in sensitive situations; Detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working independently; Willingness to mentor students and contribute to a positive clinical culture
