Manager, Tax & Accounting

We are seeking an experienced Tax & Accounting Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will oversee all aspects of tax compliance, planning, and accounting within the organization. They are responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining compliance with tax laws and regulations, and implementing strategies to minimize tax liabilities while maximizing financial efficiency.

Responsibilities

Oversee all aspects of tax compliance, planning, and accounting; Ensure accurate financial reporting; Maintain compliance with tax laws and regulations; Implement strategies to minimize tax liabilities while maximizing financial efficiency; Work in all phases of tax planning, tax preparation, review, compliance, and research; Demonstrate knowledge of prevailing tax laws and developments; Apply knowledge of current tax and regulatory issues to client recommendations; Prepare various tax returns including individual, fiduciary, corporate, partnership, and multistate; Coordinate complex accounting projects and initiatives with other members of the accounting team; Review engagement work papers, resolve problems, and keep the partner informed; Coordinate phases of an engagement including staff requirements, job planning and scheduling; Supervise staff accountants, provide feedback, and evaluate their progress; Assist in administrative functions as assigned by partners; Recognize opportunities to provide additional services to existing clients and efficiencies

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in accounting; CPA; At least 7+ years of experience in a CPA firm; Able to work independently and within a team environment; Outstanding communication skills both written and verbal; Detail oriented and capable of multi-tasking, prioritizing and managing time effectively; A team player with a positive 'can do' attitude and a 'firm first' mindset; Reliably commute or planning to relocate to Woodbury, NY 11797

Nice to have

Real Estate background; Experience using CCH Access Suite; Strong experience using tax software with Thomson Reuters UltraTax CS, Microsoft Office and Intuit QuickBooks
