Meat Sales Associate

The associate keeps the meat department stocked and appealing, serves customers, maintains food safety and sanitation standards, and performs other duties as assigned. This position currently has no supervisory responsibilities.

Responsibilities

Keeps meat department cases well stocked and appealing to meet customer demand; Smiles and greets customers, makes suggestions, answers questions about cuts and preparation of products; Takes orders for future delivery and helps fill special requests; Helps resolve customer concerns in a prompt and courteous manner; Sets up displays and rotates product as needed; Ensures meat is fresh, in saleable condition, with proper prices and signage; Handles and removes spoiled, damaged or expired product per company procedures; May grind and cut certain meats and poultry; Weighs and wraps merchandise at customer request and applies price and weight stickers; Maintains logs to track freshness and quality; Adheres to food and personal safety codes; Responsible for general sanitation of the department and following cleaning schedules; Assists in minimizing shrink and controlling damages and reports shortages or overages to manager; May assist with receiving, unloading and storing deliveries (training provided); May assist with baling cardboard (training provided); Cooperates with co-workers and superiors; Uses all company-provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE); May assist in other departments

Requirements

Completed or working towards a High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED); No prior experience required
