Mechanic (1st Shift)

Penn Machine Company is a proven 100+ year old local company in a growth industry. We are a leading manufacturer of products and services for the transit, railroad, mining, and oil/gas industries. Currently we have an excellent full-time employment opportunity available in our Blairsville, PA facility.

Responsibilities

Disassemble and assemble transit wheel set assemblies and their components; Dimensional inspection, documentation and assembly of transit wheel set assemblies and components; Test requalified or manufactured product to specifications; Perform magnetic particle and ultrasonic inspection (if certified); Clean, mask, paint or apply coatings to components; Prepare parts and assemblies for shipment; Detailed documentation and recordkeeping

Requirements

Willing and able to work overtime, alternate shifts, and/or weekends; Basic mathematical skills; Experience using precision measuring instruments; Accuracy in completing reports/documentation and with reading and understanding written directions and procedures; Self-motivated and willing to work with minimal supervision

Nice to have

Basic mechanical assembly experience or training certification in a related field; Machine shop environment background; Magnetic particle and ultrasonic inspection certification
