Medical Lab Scientist I

Natera is currently seeking a licensed Medical Laboratory Scientist to analyze specimens and maintains equipment in good operating condition.

Responsibilities

Verify the proper specimen being analyzed and perform tests; Proficient at analyzing clinical laboratory specimens following standard methods and procedures; Maintain updated understanding and knowledge of methods performed in the lab; Provide general oversight of personnel and daily operations; Meet expected performance metrics; Follow GLP; Complete training and other deadlines; Provide guidance for new Clinical Laboratory Operators/Medical Laboratory Scientists; Train on specialized instructions for instruments/protocols; Recognize and escalate equipment malfunctions; troubleshoot common analytical and processing errors; Recognize, document, and escalate protocol deviations; Assist with documentation for nonconformance reports; Participate in updating departmental standard operating procedures and database; Conduct independent continuous improvement projects; Ensure compliance with regulatory agency requirements; Perform quality control procedures; Maintain equipment and instruments in good operating condition; Maintain inventory; Communicate with team and departments; Provide feedback and suggestions; Assist teammates; Conduct oneself professionally; Adhere to Departmental Expectations; Work with PHI and complete training; Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

Licensed Medical Laboratory Scientist; BS/BA degree in Medical Technology, Biological Sciences, or a related field; Excellent interpersonal, communication, computer, troubleshooting, and pipetting skills; Excellent oral and written communication skills; Word processing and data management skills; Ability to work well in a group; Ability to work independently with minimal supervision; Must be able to discern color visually or evaluate cellular morphology when applicable and pass applicable screening assessment

Nice to have

Current MT/MLS/CLS/MB certification from ASCP, AMT, or AAB; Experience in Molecular Biology
