Millwright

We are looking for a Licensed Millwright at our Walker Compost & Packaging Facility in Arthur, ON. Our millwrights perform preventive and curative maintenance on a wide variety of mobile and fixed plant equipment at our site in Arthur, ON. This position will be reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor. The wage for this position is $43.86/hour.

Responsibilities

Inspecting machinery and equipment to detect defects and irregularities; Using welding equipment and power tools to fabricate parts during maintenance or set-up of machinery; Interpreting blueprints and schematic drawings to follow work procedures; Troubleshooting in accordance with manufacturer’s specifications and requirements; Repairing or replacing defective components using hand and power tools; Designing, welding and manufacturing custom parts when needed; Performing PMs; Exercising good judgement and discretion in prioritizing maintenance repairs; Demonstrating a strong commitment to established safety protocols and best work practices.

Requirements

Millwright license; Completion of an apprenticeship program in industrial machinery repair or millwrighting; Demonstrated ability to pay close attention to details and keep accurate records; Demonstrated knowledge of health and safety and environmental regulations and legislation; Able to work with limited supervision and to take discretionary action as required.

Nice to have

Experience as a heavy duty equipment mechanic (421A) is an asset.
