Miramar Beach Bar - Host

The Host is responsible for the overall guest dining experience within the restaurant outlet to include but not limited to providing the guests, either on the phone or in person, with information and support in a professional and gracious manner, receive and coordinate reservations and seating for daily and/or nightly service, all the while providing outstanding service to the guests along the way, and acting as an advocate for the restaurant in developing relationships with the guests.

Responsibilities

Providing guests, either on the phone or in person, with information and support in a professional and gracious manner; Receiving and coordinating reservations and seating for daily and/or nightly service; Providing outstanding service to guests; Acting as an advocate for the restaurant in developing relationships with guests; Maintaining complete knowledge of departmental policies, service procedures and standards; Greeting all restaurant guests and providing information when asked; Receiving incoming calls and accurately booking reservations; Maintaining complete knowledge of menu items, prices, and preparation methods; Handling guest complaints following the six-step procedure; Monitoring and maintaining cleanliness, sanitation and organization of assigned station and service areas; Adhering to payment, cash handling and credit policies/procedures

Requirements

High School Diploma or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience; Current and valid Food Handler Certification; Current and valid Responsible Beverage Service Certification and Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) Server ID; Minimum 21 years of age to pour alcoholic beverages; Minimum two years' experience in restaurant service; Required to speak, read and write English; Must be able to exert physical effort in transporting 20 pounds; Ability to work an 8-12 hour shift in hot, noisy and sometimes close conditions; Ability to operate, clean and maintain all equipment required in job functions; Ability to comprehend and follow recipes; Ability to perform job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy; Ability to prioritize, organize and follow through; Ability to be a clear thinker, remain calm and resolve problems using good judgment

Nice to have

Fluency in other languages; Hotel operational exposure (i.e. F&B); Experience with a luxury or ultra-luxury property or brand
