MRI Technologist

Responsibilities

Operate MRI scanners to produce high-resolution diagnostic images; Select the right imaging techniques based on physician orders and patient condition; Evaluate own work before it reaches a radiologist; Apply MRI safety zones Zone I through Zone IV and enforce them without exception; Screen patients thoroughly and assess contrast contraindications; Monitor patients during procedures; Maintain clean, complete, and current patient documentation; Manage own workflow and perform routine quality control checks; Maintain equipment and adapt when protocols shift or patient needs change; Provide compassionate care, correct positioning, and plain-language explanations to patients; Mentor new staff and students and model best practices

Requirements

ARRT-MR or ARMRIT certification required; Valid state licensure current (where required); Hands-on CPR/BLS certified and current; Graduate of an accredited Radiologic or MRI Technology program; MRI safety zones and screening protocols second nature; Proficiency in PACS and imaging software systems; Confident in contrast administration and contraindication assessment; Strong communication skills with patients, physicians, and teammates; Calm under pressure and sharp under a deadline; Willingness to mentor staff and students and contribute to a positive clinical culture

Nice to have

1+ year of experience in a high-volume MRI environment (preferred)
