Responsible for developing, optimizing, and maintaining NC programs for complex aerospace components, ensuring efficient and high-quality manufacturing processes.
Responsibilities
Develop NC programs for multi-axis machining centers (e.g., 3-axis, 5-axis, mill-turn) using CATIA V5, DELMIA, or similar CAM software; Analyze engineering drawings, 3D models, and specifications to determine optimal machining strategies and tooling requirements; Simulate and verify NC programs to detect potential collisions, ensure material removal, and optimize cycle times; Collaborate with design engineers, manufacturing engineers, and production teams to resolve technical issues and improve manufacturability; Select appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and work holding devices based on material properties and machining requirements; Optimize existing NC programs for efficiency, reduced cycle time, and improved surface finish; Perform post-processing and create setup sheets, tool lists, and other necessary documentation for machine operators; Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to NC programming processes and technologies; Troubleshoot and debug NC programs on the shop floor as needed; Adhere to all safety regulations and quality standardsRequirements
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical field; Proven experience as an NC Programmer, preferably within the aerospace industry; Proficiency in CAM software, particularly CATIA V5; Strong understanding of G-code and M-code programming; In-depth knowledge of various machining processes (milling, turning, drilling, etc.) and assembly process (drilling, riveting, etc.) and materials common in aerospace (e.g., aluminum alloys, titanium, composites); Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings and 3D models; Experience with machine tool simulation and verification software; Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies; Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail; Strong communication and teamwork abilities; Fluency in English (written and spoken); Flexibility for travel to Germany is strictly required; minimum estimated training time of approximately 1.5 years (80%) at the German plant; Awareness of potential compliance risks and commitment to act with integrityBenefits
