Night Watchman - Part Time

Yulista is interviewing multiple dedicated Part-Time Night Watchmen to help ensure the security of personnel and vessel while in port, and critical government assets right here in Panama City Beach, Florida.

Responsibilities

Monitor Quarter Deck for authorized entry of personnel and visitors, checking required forms of identification and verifying against vessel access list; Make sound and security rounds throughout vessel following a predetermined schedule and prescribed route; Remain vigilant for any unusual conditions and report inconsistencies immediately to commanding officer; Monitor and record vessel machinery conditions, ensuring they are functioning and maintained in accordance with original equipment manufacturers recommendations; Protect government equipment and assets; Answer and respond appropriately to any alarm conditions such as fire or flooding; Take vessel draft readings, read visual markings on vessel hull and compare those readings against previous records; Assist other crew members to protect vessel against flooding and take appropriate proactive measures once per watch; Assist vessel with getting underway and returning from sea, physically removing the gangway from the vessel and casting off catch lines as directed; Perform Line Handler duties when the vessel gets underway or returns to port outside normal working hours; Monitor weather conditions, check mooring lines and add as necessary; Place ship on or offshore or generator power in accordance with engineering operating and sequencing procedures; Perform other related duties to meet the ongoing needs of the organization and vessel

Requirements

High School Diploma or Equivalent; Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance; Beginner computer skills specifically using Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn additional computer skills or software programs; Ability to understand and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; Ability to generate routine reports and correspondence; Interpersonal skills necessary to work effectively and cooperatively with all levels of management and staff; Ability to use general office equipment such as fax, phone, copier, scanner, printers; Ability to follow a process; Strong professional customer service skills including active listening, prompt service and follow-up; Strong decision analysis and problem-solving skills and ability to draw conclusions and justify decisions; Ability to communicate issues to management; Ability to learn and understand corporate policies and procedures and how they relate to goals; Ability to perform basic mathematical computations; High degree of self-motivation and ability to work independently; Ability to multi-task

Nice to have
