Nuclear Medicine Technologist

Nuclear Medicine Technologist position at Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital. Part time, 28 hours per week. Schedule: Monday, Wednesday, Friday with rotating Thursday working 8:30am-5:00pm. Call and Holiday Rotation. PET experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

Determination of appropriate image scan technique and position for patient; Secures patient history and records for radiologist review; Positions patient, adjusts equipment, and secures immobilization/support devices as needed; Captures appropriate exam charges and updates procedure files with HIS/RIS; Prepares and administers radiopharmaceuticals and procedural adjunctive medication; Performs venipuncture and placement of peripheral IV catheters; Ensures procedures sent to PACS are verified; Coordinates quality control in N.M. and PET; Prepares N.M. suite, maintains equipment and supplies; Adheres to safety standards and ALARA measures; Maintains current ARRT (N) or NMTBC certification, CPR, and state accreditations; Provides instruction and orientation to new technologists

Requirements

Graduate from an accredited AMA School of Nuclear Medicine; New grads accepted; Knowledge of HIS system; Basic knowledge of RIS systems; PACS; IEMA accreditation in Medical Radiation Technology; ARRT registered and certified in nuclear medicine (NM) or CNMT certified; CPR certified; Must be able to make independent professional decisions; Must have a high degree of technical skills; Must be able to function with minimal assistance; Must be conscientious in practicing high quality patient care; Ability to work in a fast-paced environment; Ability to work rotating shifts any day of the week and rotate to the Crystal Lake facility; Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance
