NURSE RESIDENT RN I AMBULATORY CLINIC

Nurse Resident position for Outpatient Oncology Clinics as part of the Ambulatory Care Oncology Nurse Residency Program at Moffitt Cancer Center. The role delivers individualized quality nursing care to cancer patients and families, with a rotation in two outpatient oncology clinics and one treatment center. The program supports newly licensed BSN nurses in transitioning to oncology practice through clinical orientation, preceptorship, professional and clinical topics, and mentorship. Nurse Residents must sign a Commitment Agreement to work a minimum of two full years as a full-time Registered Nurse in the Cancer Center.

Responsibilities

Deliver individualized quality nursing care to cancer patients and families in accordance with established hospital guidelines, nursing professional practice model, nursing care standards and policies; Use the nursing process to effectively plan and manage quality patient care; Rotate through two outpatient oncology clinics and one treatment center during the first 90 days of employment; Complete a 12-week clinical orientation rotating through 3 ambulatory areas with a preceptor; Participate in residency programs outside of the unit for one or two days each month during the first twelve months of practice; Meet monthly with the residency group for reflective practice; Work with an assigned mentor before finishing the residency

Requirements

BSN graduate from an ACEN or CCNE institution; Less than 1 year of experience or no experience as a Registered Nurse; BSN; Florida RN; BLS
