Nurse Services Supervisor - PM Shift

The Nursing Services Supervisor provides leadership and oversight to nursing team to assure day to day operations are carried out in accordance with Rogers patient care and safety standards. The NSS will assist the manager of operations of Nursing Services by facilitating and assuring implementation of policy, practice and procedures nursing practice and all aspects of patient care to include: overseeing patient care activities, programming, and nursing related activities across divisions. The NSS facilitates communication in a timely and complete manner to assure positive flow of information, collaboration and prompt resolution of items needing escalation.

Responsibilities

Provide leadership and oversight to nursing team; Assist manager of operations of Nursing Services by facilitating implementation of policy, practice and procedures; Oversee patient care activities, programming, and nursing related activities across divisions; Facilitate communication in a timely and complete manner; Oversee and ensure patient rounds and patient care notes are entered into medical records accurately, consistently and timely; Ensure medication protocols are followed; Act as back up to charge nurse; Meet with patient/family to resolve concerns and address complaints; Facilitate intra-department communication and oversee patient care and safety; Continually assess and ensure safety of physical environment of unit; Facilitate clinical program conceptualization and delivery in conjunction with medical directors; Supervise nursing and PCA staff; Participate in recruitment activities; Complete introductory and annual evaluations; Participate in on-call rotation; Support payroll needs by approving PTO, timecard adjustments and approvals; Attend, participate, and lead staff meetings; Execute on goals for Nursing Services department; Ensure compliance with Joint Commission and regulatory agency regulations; Participate in budgeting process and manage FTE expenditures; Promote a team environment; Conduct self in a professional manner

Requirements

Associate’s degree required; 2 years of experience in nursing required; Applicable license/certification in area of focus required; Wisconsin Registered Nurse license, current and in good standing, required for nurse managers when applicable; American Heart Association Healthcare Provider CPR certification or American Red Cross Professional Rescue required within 30 days of date-of-hire; Annual re-certification required; Formal training in management of the aggressive patient required within 60 days of date-of-hire; Annual re-certification required; Clinical experience in mental health or chemical dependency services required; Registered Nurse Board Certified - Cert; Registered Nurse - Cert

Nice to have

Bachelor’s degree preferred; A minimum of one (1) year experience in a supervisory/management role is strongly preferred
