Occupational Therapist - Acute Rehab, Pineville

Join the Inpatient Occupational Therapy team at Atrium Health Pineville. As an Acute Care Occupational Therapist, you will provide one-on-one functional rehabilitation at the patient's bedside, helping individuals regain independence through customized evaluations, hands-on treatment, and collaborative care with an interdisciplinary team. Schedule: full time, 40 hours per week, 1st shift Monday-Friday with weekend and holiday rotation.

Responsibilities

Provide direct therapy services to patients admitted to a level of care requiring service 7 days a week, including holidays (acute care, rehabilitation and skilled nursing facility); Evaluate patients, select and administer assessment techniques, and establish patient care plans including modalities, procedures, exercise programs, therapeutic groups, and patient education; Gather and interpret data from the medical record, physician reports, patient, and/or family; Communicate patient evaluation and progress to physicians, referral sources, and clinical staff, and coordinate schedules, treatment programs, and discharge planning; Recommend solutions to patient care problems; Document evaluations, tests, progress notes, daily treatment notes, attendance records, patient/family education, outcomes, discharge notes, and charges

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in occupational therapy required; applicable state license for OT required; BLS required per policy guidelines; Hearing (corrected) adequate for oral/aural communication; Vision (corrected) adequate for reading; Intelligible speech and adequate language/cognitive skills to perform job duties; Ability to sit, stand, and walk throughout the day; Ability to lift patients, equipment, or supplies up to 20 pounds frequently and 50 pounds occasionally; Ability to laterally transfer patients up to 100 pounds rarely; Ability to demonstrate exercises and activities to patients/caregivers
