Open Heart Tech Experienced Surgery (Days)

Responsible for performing technical responsibilities relative to assisting cardiothoracic surgeons with the instrumentation of Open Heart surgery, as well as assisting in the preparation and management of tubings utilized by the heart-lung (pump) machine.

Responsible for performing technical responsibilities relative to assisting cardiothoracic surgeons with the instrumentation of Open Heart surgery; assisting in the preparation and management of tubings utilized by the heart-lung (pump) machine.

Requirements

Successful completion of a surgical technologist program accredited by a national accrediting organization or successor organization, or successful completion of a training program for surgical technologist administered by the US Public Health Service, Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines or Coast Guard; Minimum of two (2) years scrubbing experience in a major operating room; At least one (1) year of experience as an Open Heart Scrub Technician; Current Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) from National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting; Current BLS Certification; Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care/service appropriate to the age of the patient
