Optical Assistant

This position is a permanent contract for Donegal/Sligo and surrounding counties. We are hiring for a really great opportunity within our Retinal Technicians team in the Donegal/Sligo and surrounding areas. The role involves Eye Photography, used to identify the damage to the retina that can be caused by complications of Diabetes. Experience is not essential, so this could be a really great opportunity for someone looking to take a step into healthcare, or even someone already working in the Healthcare space who would like to develop their skillset.

Responsibilities

Eye Photography; Work as part of the national diabetic eye screening programme; Work alongside Senior Diabetic Retinal Technicians and Team Leaders

Requirements

No experience required; Full Clean Irish drivers licence and a safe place to store a company vehicle; Passion for customer care and positive patient outcomes; IT literacy - word processing, spreadsheets and regular use of Microsoft Office; Initiative and ability to prioritise tasks; Problem-solving skills; Strong work ethic and proactive approach; Ability to work largely unsupervised after initial training; Excellent communication skills at all levels; Pre-existing right to work and travel within the EU
