Packaging Machine Operator

The Packaging Machine Operator, under general supervision, is responsible for the safe, efficient, and continuous operation of packaging machinery while maintaining continuous flow of product to the packaging lines. Responsibilities include making minor adjustments to the machinery to achieve the correct product, troubleshooting, maintenance of machinery, and record keeping.

Responsibilities

Maintains shift documentation; Reads production schedule and plans accordingly; Reads and interprets schedule in MicroStrategy; Prints labels on different printers; Performs nitrogen testing; Monitors and adjusts packaging machinery; Maintains supply of roll stock; Sets up and writes new programs for bag makers; Writes/edits machine micro logic; Creates and modifies code dates; Performs preventative maintenance; Operates packaging equipment including case sealers and robot cells; Plans machine changeovers; Ensures machines run at standard speeds; Performs bag weight checks every 20 minutes; Identifies and resolves packaged product quality issues; Keeps machines and work areas clean; Reports maintenance problems; Follows safety and hygiene guidelines; Provides leadership to packers; May perform other duties as required

Nice to have
