Patient Transporter I

Full time Patient Transporter I position in the Patient Transport department at Atrium Health Cabarrus, located at 920 Church St N, Concord, NC. Schedule is Mon-Fri (6a-2:30p), 40 hours per week. Provides guest/transport services including transports, transfers, discharges, admissions, escorts, materials and equipment, and performs safe patient handling, equipment maintenance, and facility safety monitoring.

Responsibilities

Role models a positive Advocate Health image; Provide excellent customer service in transporting daily; Provide guest/transport services including transports, transfers, discharges, admissions, escorts, materials and equipment; Coordinate activities to guide patients, visitors/guests, and staff; Possess the ability to adjust liter flow and determine PSI in an oxygen cylinder; Perform safe patient handling including moving patients, patient lifts, patient transfers; Provide education to patients and visitors/guests; Use capacity management system and equipment to process tasks; Assist with care and maintenance of transport equipment; Monitor facilities to ensure environment is safe and clean; Maintain equipment inventory; Complete and maintain required training, educational programs, and certification; Attend meetings; Adhere to Advocate Health and departmental policies and procedures

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required; BLS certified within 6 months; Experience in physically demanding work environment; Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds; Ability to push/pull all patient transport equipment; Ability to prioritize workload; Lengthy periods of standing and walking

Nice to have

Oral and written communication skills, organizational, typing and strong leadership skills; Previous experience in a guest services or hospitality industry; Computer and data entry skills
