Polysomnographic Tech

Responsibilities

Review history, physical, medications, order, and study protocol; Complete and verify documentation; Prepare and calibrate equipment and troubleshoot as necessary; Apply electrodes and sensors according to the International 10-20 system; Perform routine positive airway pressure mask fitting and titration; Conduct artifact-free studies and make adjustments; Implements appropriate interventions including CPAP, Bi-level, and oxygen administration; Assists with Sleep/Wake stages; Cleans equipment according to protocol; Monitors inventory; Scores polysomnographic studies according to The AASM Manual for the Scoring of Sleep and Associated Events; Serves as a resource for Polysomnographic technicians.

Requirements

Must be registered by the BRPT; Must obtain 10 CECs in Sleep per year; Must have valid American Heart Association or American Red Cross certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation; Ability to maintain a positive attitude and provide great customer service under stressful situations; Ability to communicate in a clear, concise, and pleasant manner in both verbal and written form; Ability to multi-task; Ability to adapt quickly to change; Ability to work both independently and with co-workers; Ability to use and manage time efficiently; Ability to follow the direction of supervisory personnel.

Nice to have

Minimum one year experience with psg and cpap titrations preferred but not required
