Privacy Legal Counsel

We are looking for an experienced Legal Counsel to support Mistral AI’s GDPR compliance strategy by being the product and engineering teams' closest partner and advisor, and drafting compliance documentation.

Responsibilities

Manage Mistral AI’s compliance documentation (records of processing of personal data, data privacy impact assessments, internal policies, etc.); answer and manage data subject requests; implement GDPR processes and automation; manage employee training on privacy topics; negotiate DPAs with Mistral AI’s providers and customers; monitor privacy regulations and supervisory authorities guidance or decisions; advise the product team on privacy topics concerning new features; answer privacy-related questions from other teams; update the compliance documentation accordingly

Requirements

Master degree in law; 3 to 5 years of experience in a law firm or in a tech company, in IT law and specifically in privacy law and GDPR compliance; good knowledge of privacy regulations and guidance from national supervisory authorities as well as the EDPB; understanding of artificial intelligence technologies and their applications is essential; ability to identify compliance issues and develop effective strategies to address and resolve them; good project management skills; ability to analyze complex legal and technical issues related to AI and to identify potential legal risks and solutions; detail-oriented and strong problem-solving skills; excellent written and verbal communication; strong ability to present complex legal concepts in a clear and understandable manner; business oriented; adaptable and willing to continuously learn and update their skills and knowledge; ability to work independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment; proactive, flexible, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
