Production Supervisor- Lane One

Lead Lane One: As a Production Supervisor at Cerro Flow Products, a Marmon Holdings company backed by Berkshire Hathaway, you will lead the Lane One team, a dedicated section of the Sauget plant. The supervisor owns the day-to-day work there: the people, the schedule, the material flow, and the safety of everyone on the line. Second-line supervisor responsible for assigning and coordinating the work in a manufacturing department. The head of the function is not reported in this position even if he/she is a first-line supervisor.

Responsibilities

Assigning and coordinating all work on the Lane One production line(s), making sure tasks are completed safely, efficiently, and to quality standards; Implementing production schedules, methods, and processes, and allocating manpower and equipment to meet production targets; Planning work schedules and staffing levels so the area is adequately covered; Organizing material flow and inventory, and making sure your team has the tools, equipment, and materials it needs; Supervising and training production staff, including training new employees on jobs in your area; Monitoring work performance and giving timely, constructive feedback to improve productivity and quality; Owning the safety of your team: enforcing safety protocols, conducting regular area inspections, and addressing hazards or unsafe practices promptly; Coordinating with other departments and shifts to keep work flowing smoothly; Identifying operational and personnel issues and proposing solutions and improvements to the production process; Maintaining accurate records of production, safety incidents, and employee performance, and preparing reports as required by management; Other duties as assigned; Supervises hourly employees, maintains log of shift operations; Prepares daily time sheets for hourly employees, production summaries, overtime and downtime reports

Requirements

2+ years' experience as a Production Supervisor or in a similar leadership role; Solid hands-on experience with various types of manufacturing machinery and tools; Strong organizational and leadership skills, with the ability to lead, train, and develop a team; Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including conflict resolution; Self-motivated and an efficient problem solver; Working knowledge of safety regulations and practices in a manufacturing environment; Ability to read a micrometer and a tape measure; Good practical experience with Microsoft Office; Ability to stand, walk, and lift as required by the job, and to work in varying plant conditions; Ability to work scheduled overtime; High school diploma required
