Python Engineer

My client is seeking a talented Python Backend Engineer with strong fintech experience to join our growing engineering team. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of professional experience in backend development, excellent Python skills, and advanced SQL knowledge. This is a hybrid role based in Amsterdam, offering the opportunity to work on complex, scalable financial systems.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs using Python; Write efficient, scalable, and secure SQL queries and optimize database performance; Collaborate with product, frontend, and data teams to deliver high-quality fintech solutions; Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and continuous improvement initiatives; Ensure backend systems are robust, maintainable, and follow best practices for security and compliance; Troubleshoot and resolve performance issues and bugs in production systems; Contribute to technical documentation and support knowledge sharing within the team.

Requirements

Python; MySQL; PostgreSQL; 3+ years of professional experience in backend development with Python; Strong SQL skills and experience working with relational databases; Previous experience in fintech or financial services is required; Familiarity with RESTful APIs, microservices, and Linux experience; Experience with version control and CI/CD pipelines; Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail; Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a hybrid team environment.
