Reablement Care Assistant

Care Assistant (Reablement) - Help Someone Walk Out of Hospital and Back Into Their Life. Most Care Jobs Support People. This One Helps Them Get Their Independence Back. As a Reablement Care Assistant, you'll support people recovering from illness, injury or hospital admission, helping them regain confidence and independence in their daily lives. Unlike traditional home care, Reablement focuses on helping people regain the skills they need to live independently following an illness, injury, fall or hospital stay. You will be paid for your scheduled shift, not per call or visit. Locations include Dacorum (Hemel Hempstead, Tring, Berkhamsted), Hertford & Ware, Sawbridgeworth and surrounding areas.

Responsibilities

Support people recovering from illness, injury or hospital admission, helping them regain confidence and independence; Encourage and motivate clients to complete everyday tasks independently; Assist with walking, transfers and exercises prescribed by healthcare professionals; Support people in preparing their own meals and drinks where possible; Prompt and encourage safe medication routines; Help clients relearn household tasks such as cleaning, laundry and maintaining their home; Build confidence in accessing local services, activities and social opportunities; Observe improvements, identify setbacks and report changes appropriately; Document progress towards individual goals and celebrate milestones

Requirements

Genuinely care about helping others; Communicate confidently and respectfully; Are positive, encouraging and patient; Work independently and use initiative; Want to make a meaningful difference in people's lives; Full UK driving licence; Access to your own vehicle; Right to work in the UK

Nice to have

Experience is helpful; Ideally at least 6 months of care experience
