Registered Nurse - Cardiff Hospice

We are recruiting for a Registered Nurse to join our Cardiff & the Vale Hospice IPU Team in Penarth. You’ll be part of a supportive team that truly cares about you and your development. Using a patient-centred approach and evidenced based practice, assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care and co-ordinate care from admission to discharge. You will be expected to administer medication and treatment as prescribed in accordance with the NMC’s and the Charity’s policies and guidelines. You will also provide emotional, psychological and spiritual support for patients and carers.

Responsibilities

Assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care using a patient-centred approach and evidenced based practice; Co-ordinate care from admission to discharge; Administer medication and treatment as prescribed in accordance with the NMC’s and the Charity’s policies and guidelines; Provide emotional, psychological and spiritual support for patients and carers

Requirements

NMC Registered; RGN Registration Level 1; Palliative Experience; Ability to demonstrate an understanding of palliative care and the needs of patients with complex symptoms as well as at end of life; Forward thinking with excellent communication skills; Must be available for days, night and weekend shifts
