Registered Nurse RN Cardiovascular ICU

Bring your passion for Cardiovascular Intensive Care patient care. The Cardiovascular ICU at Banner University Medical Center Phoenix is a cardiac referral site receiving patients from across the state. CVICU specializes in cardiothoracic surgery, including coronary artery bypasses, off-pump bypass procedures, valve repair and replacement, MAZE, vascular, and thoracic surgeries, as well as medical cardiac patients recovering from acute MI, CHF and post cardiac intervention. Treatments include hemodynamic monitoring and/or IABP therapy, CRRT, multiple vasopressors, Swan-Ganz catheters, ventricular assist device (VAD), ECMO, and advanced respiratory therapies. Department: ICU-Cardiovascular-Hosp. Work shift: Night.

Responsibilities

Assess patient physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural and discharge planning needs; Formulate and review plan of care in collaboration with patient, family and multidisciplinary team; Implement plan of care through direct patient care, coordination, delegation and supervision; Evaluate patient and family response to care and teaching; Document assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation in the patient record; Provide care based on the best evidence available and participate in research activities; Participate in unit leadership, education, precepting and mentoring; Communicate with physicians, staff, families and external providers regarding patient health care

Requirements

Current, valid RN license in state of practice, temporary/interim RN license in state of practice, or compact RN licensure for current state of practice; BLS certification required; Additional certification or continuing education may be required based on area of practice; Experience in the clinical area for which the candidate is applying is desired; Must maintain clinical performance competencies through annual validations; Banner Registry and Travel acute care positions require a minimum of one year experience in an acute care hospital setting, including acute care experience within the past 12 months as a Registered Nurse in the specialty area
