Registered Nurse (RN) - Med Surg Oncology

Med Surg 1 is a 16-bed unit dedicated to delivering holistic, patient-centered care for a wide range of medical conditions, with a strong focus on oncology. Care often begins at diagnosis and continues through treatment, pre-transplant preparation, illness support, chemotherapy, palliation, and hospice care at end of life. Nurses on this unit receive specialized training to advance expertise in oncology nursing. Schedule details: 36 hours per week; 12-hour shifts; rotate between 6 weeks of day shift (7am-7:30pm) and 6 weeks of night shift (7pm-7:30am); every 4th weekend and every other holiday.

Responsibilities

Provide and coordinate comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures; Use evidence-based practice, clinical decision making, compassion, and skills communication while leading efforts to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum

Requirements

Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing; Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices; Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association; ONS certification class offered after 12 months (Required to complete)
