Registered Nurse RN Oncology Ambulatory

As a Registered Nurse in Medical Oncology, you will be a key member of a multidisciplinary team dedicated to supporting patients through complex cancer care in the outpatient clinic setting at BUMC Phoenix (Banner MD Anderson). The role is part of the BMDA Physician Clinic department, day shift. Schedule: Monday to Friday 8am-4:30pm or 4 ten-hour shifts.

Responsibilities

Provide expert nursing assessments in an outpatient clinic setting; Manage patient symptoms; Coordinate follow-up care; Offer education and emotional support to patients and their families; Work closely with oncologists and other specialists to deliver personalized, compassionate care; Assess, plan, implement, evaluate and document nursing care in accordance with organizational policies and professional nursing practice standards; Formulate and revise plans of care including discharge planning; Delegate and supervise care provided by other licensed nurses and personnel; Participate in education, orientation, precepting and mentoring; Interact with multidisciplinary teams, patients, families and external providers

Requirements

Current, valid RN license in state of practice, temporary/interim RN license in state of practice, or compact RN licensure for current state of practice; BLS certification required; additional certification or continuing education may be required based on area of practice; experience in the clinical area is desired; must maintain clinical performance competencies through annual validations

Nice to have
