Registered Nurse RN Surgical Progressive Care

Position Summary: This position assesses, plans, implements, evaluates and documents nursing care of patients in accordance with organizational policies and in accordance with standards of professional nursing practice utilizing the framework for professional nursing practice and development. This position is accountable for the quality of nursing services delivered by self or others who are under their direction. This position utilizes specialized knowledge, judgment, and nursing skills necessary to assess data and plan, provide and evaluate care appropriate to the physical and developmental age of assigned patients. This opening is for a FULL-TIME Night Shift opening and will require 3 shifts per week from 7pm-7:30am, with weekends and holidays included on a rotating basis.

Responsibilities

Assess patient physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural and discharge planning needs; Formulate, implement and revise the plan of care in collaboration with the patient, family and multidisciplinary team; Provide care based on physician orders, policies, standards of care and regulatory requirements; Delegate and supervise care provided by other licensed nurses and personnel; Evaluate patient and family response to care and teaching; Document assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation in the patient record; Provide patient teaching and participate in education, orientation, precepting and mentoring; Care for patients such as vascular, cardio-thoracic surgical, heart transplantation and heart failure patients, including LVAD and TAH treatment modalities; Participate in the Nursing Clinical Ladder Program

Requirements

Current, valid RN license in state of practice, temporary/interim RN license in state of practice, or compact RN licensure for current state of practice; BLS certification is required; Must maintain clinical performance competencies appropriate to the area in which they work as demonstrated through annual validations; Additional certification or continuing education may be required based on area of practice

Nice to have

Bachelor's degree preferred; Professional certification preferred; Experience in the clinical area for which the candidate is applying is desired; Additional related education and/or experience preferred; Telemetry, ICU, Home Health, Skilled Nursing, Medical/Surgical or other acute or critical care background
