Research & Development Technician

This is a Cactus Wellhead position and is located in Houston, TX. JOB SUMMARY: Performs a wide variety of tasks assisting a research team with product development products.

Responsibilities

Performs a wide variety of tasks assisting a research team with product development products; practices safe work habits and complies with all quality, safety, health and environmental policies, procedures, programs and regulations; computes formulas, percentages or production-specific factors using mathematical procedures; ensures accurate component preparation; develops and maintains products; assists with product testing; inspects, operates and tests completed products to verify functioning and conformance to requirements; tests products to ensure proper position and/or alignment of components for assembly, manually or using hoists; verifies parts clearances and fit up; adjusts, repairs, reworks or replaces parts and assemblies to eliminate malfunctions and ensure proper operation; reads and interprets assembly drawings or operation manuals; maintains and lubricates parts or components; accurately records results and documentation for certification of product to customer requirements; maintains inventory of test parts and equipment; concludes test setups and stores equipment properly; maintains and cleans office area and lab facility; performs other regular duties as assigned or requested.

Requirements

High School diploma or general education degree (GED); or a minimum of 2 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience; ability to read and understand detailed instruction drawings and specifications on wellhead equipment and valves; knowledge of good document control and process flow; knowledge of how parts are assembled, tested and painted and the tools and equipment used; knowledge of Quality System; ability to lift/move up to 50 pounds regularly; ability to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 12 hours per shift); ability to climb stairs and ladders; ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and reach; ability to work in confined spaces when required; ability to operate heavy equipment and power tools; ability to perform repetitive movements; must wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE); must follow all safety protocols and procedures; must participate in regular safety training; must complete required safety certifications; must comply with all environmental regulations.
