Respiratory Care Supervisor- Respiratory- Full Time- Night Shift

The Respiratory Care Supervisor is a clinical expert, responsible for oversight of the respiratory care team, ensuring smooth operations and the delivery of high-quality patient care to all ages, including the neonatal intensive care unit, during their assigned shift. The Respiratory Care Supervisor functions as an integral member of the department's management team providing clinical leadership, staff management, consultation and collaboration with physicians, nurses, and other members of the healthcare team, utilizing evidence best practice to guide respiratory care. The Respiratory Therapy Unit consists of 29 employees providing 24/7 coverage to Adult, Pediatric, and Infant patients. The unit is home to a Level 3 Neonatal team. Shifts are generally 12 hours. Work Shift: Night Shift.

Responsibilities

Exemplifies a professional role model and coaches and mentors others; Adheres to all policies and procedures; Assists in development, revision, and implementation of protocols, clinical pathways, policies, and procedures; Participates in providing education to other members of the healthcare team; Participates in organizing and implementing skills days; Collaborates with the Respiratory Manager to use time and material resources effectively; Maintains compliance with timekeeping and attendance; Establishes and adjusts staffing patterns as necessary and maintains fair workload distribution; Rounds through each area of the hospital monitoring patient conditions, assuring appropriate operation of equipment and providing point of care education; Serves as expert resource on respiratory care equipment and modalities; Identifies and participates in quality improvement initiatives; Serves as team leader during assigned shifts and as administrative point of contact when no management team member is on site; Provides technical and clinical direction in all aspects of respiratory care; Assists in clinical orientation of new staff, students and contracted staff; Performs all duties required of a registered respiratory therapist; Provides the respiratory care leadership team with feedback on staff performance and recommendations; Supports the department's Shared Governance structure (RTPC) and is accountable for quality improvement outcomes

Requirements

Graduate of CoARC approved accredited school for Respiratory Therapy; Bachelor's degree required or must be actively enrolled in a program within six (6) months of hire; State of New Hampshire Respiratory care practitioner license required at date of hire; BLS certification required within ninety (90) days from date of hire; ACLS and PALS required within six (6) months of hire; Registered Respiratory Therapy credentials required; Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) completed within six (6) months of hire; Minimum of five (5) years of recent, clinical experience required; Expert clinical skills and knowledge to function independently in an advanced clinical role; Effective verbal and written communication skills in a multidisciplinary environment; Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook; Demonstrated ability as an effective leader including effective communication, education, and mentorship

Nice to have

Master's degree preferred; Prior lead or supervisory experience preferred
