RN-Orthopedics-Per Diem

Within nursing services, the Registered Nurse assumes the accountability and responsibility as a professional nurse for providing "Patient-Centered Care" for an assigned group of patients. The job can be physically demanding at times, requiring stooping, sitting, standing, and walking for long periods, and frequently assisting with lifting patients and heavy equipment.

Responsibilities

Plans, directs and evaluates nursing care while considering physical, developmental, emotional, psychosocial, cultural, spiritual, and functional needs; Performs orderly assessment and collection of information to develop a comprehensive Standard of Care and evaluate the nursing plan of care; Follows established nursing objectives, standards, policies, and procedures in administering nursing care; Conducts initial and ongoing assessment and reassessment to meet changing patient needs; Ensures accurate documentation, adequate supplies, and knowledge of equipment operation; Educates peers, patients, and their families; Provides "Patient-Centered Care" for an assigned group of patients; Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements

Annual Joint Commission mandatory education requirements, in-service and health requirements including attendance at new employee orientation; TB/PPD Surveillance Program; Maintenance of required professional licensing and/or certification(s); Ability to push/pull up to 40lbs, carry and lift up to 50lbs; Ability to work in a stressful environment, work independently, make sound decisions, be detail oriented, alert, and self-motivated
