RN - Patient Care II - 4 South (Medical Surgical/Telemetry) - FT - Nights - MHP

Provides direct patient care in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice and with the policies, values, and mission of the organization.

Responsibilities

Plans, implements, and evaluates patient care based on patient assessment to optimize outcomes and maximize available resources; Monitors, documents, and communicates patient condition as appropriate; Evaluates learning needs of patient and family and provides patient and family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances; Effectively delegates patient care to ancillary personnel; May precept student nurses and new hires; Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including disposition, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs

Requirements

Accredited Program: Nursing; BLS American Heart E-Card (BLS AHA ECARD) - American Heart Association; BLS Cert American Heart_non ecard (BLS AHA) - American Heart Association; BLS Cert Red Cross (BLS RC) - Red Cross; Registered Nurse License (RN LICENSE) - State of Florida (FL); One (1) year of RN work experience; ONCC Chemotherapy and Biotherapy Provider Certificate required for those RNs administering chemotherapy; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required for ICU, ED, PACU, Endo, Tele, OB, MHN Pre-Op and Specialty Procedural areas; PALS required for Pediatric areas with the exception of NICU; Certification in Fetal Monitoring through National Credential Center or through AWOHNN (Intermediate or Advanced) for L&D RNs; Newly licensed RNs have 6 months to obtain ACLS and/or PALS, and Fetal Monitoring if L&D; If RN is coming from a non-pediatric background, it is required to obtain PALS within 30 days of taking the position; RN Fellowship Program requires one (1) year of RN independent practice not inclusive of nurse orientation; RN Fellowship specialties require ACLS and BLS certifications; ACCOUNTABILITY; CUSTOMER SERVICE; DEVELOPMENT AND IMPLEMENTATION OF PLAN OF CARE; KNOWLEDGE OF DISEASE PROCESS; ORGANIZATION SKILLS; PATIENT AND FAMILY CENTERED CARE; PATIENT SAFETY - NURSING; PROBLEM SOLVING - PATIENT CARE; RESPONDING TO CHANGE; STANDARDS OF BEHAVIOR
