RN - Patient Care II - 6 West Medical Surgical/Telemetry - FT - Days - MHW

Provides direct patient care in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice and with the policies, values, and mission of the organization.

Responsibilities

Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including disposition, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs; Evaluates learning needs of patient and family and provides patient and family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances; Effectively delegates patient care to ancillary personnel; May precept student nurses and new hires; Plans, implements, and evaluates patient care based on patient assessment to optimize outcomes and maximize available resources; Monitors, documents, and communicates patient condition as appropriate.

Requirements

Accredited Program: Nursing; ACLS Certification (American Heart Association or Red Cross); BLS Certification (American Heart Association or Red Cross); Registered Nurse License (State of Florida or Compact RN Multistate); One (1) year of RN work experience; ONCC Chemotherapy and Biotherapy Provider Certificate required for those RNs administering chemotherapy; ACLS required for ICU, ED, PACU, Endo, Tele, OB, MHN Pre-Op and Specialty Procedural areas; PALS required for Pediatric areas with the exception of NICU; Certification in Fetal Monitoring through National Credential Center or through AWOHNN (Intermediate or Advanced) for L&D RNs; Newly licensed RNs have 6 months to obtain ACLS and/or PALS, and Fetal Monitoring if L&D; If RN is coming from a non-pediatric background, it is required to obtain PALS within 30 days of taking the position; RN Fellowship Program requires one (1) year of RN independent practice not inclusive of nurse orientation; Accountability; Customer Service; Development and Implementation of Plan of Care; Knowledge of Disease Process; Organization Skills; Patient and Family Centered Care; Patient Safety - Nursing; Problem Solving - Patient Care; Responding to Change; Standards of Behavior
