Rounds Person

The Refrigeration Roundsman will inspect and monitor the Utilities Systems Components and identification of potential abnormal conditions which would be reported to the Refrigeration Technicians/Mechanic and/or Supervisor for further corrective action.

Responsibilities

Inspect and monitor the Utilities Systems Components and identify potential abnormal conditions to report to the Refrigeration Technicians/Mechanic and/or Supervisor for corrective action; Understand the basic refrigeration and steam process and process flows; Understand system control set points and safe operating parameters; Understand plant operating temperature requirements for general and process critical systems (e.g., Quick Chill, Hog Carcass Coolers, Pet Food Chilling Systems) and alert technicians/supervisor for correction; Understand normal system conditions, operating phases, and steps to alert technician/mechanic and/or supervisor when corrections are needed; Understand the basic functions of equipment and overall safety systems (e.g., engine room ammonia detection, ventilation, e-stop, high liquid level, high pressure cut outs, SRVs, fire protection alarms); Follow safe program and work practices; Maintain open and professional communication with maintenance and operations; Follow food safety and good manufacturing practices; May perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

High school diploma or general education degree (GED), required; Basic computer skills; Ability to work independently; Applied Math Skills; Mechanical aptitude and ability; Willingness to work all shifts (days/evenings/nights), extended hours and weekends; Ability to pass a Pulmonary Function Test; Capable of meeting the physical requirements of HAZMAT Technician
