Security Shift Supervisor

We are seeking an operational, customer-service-driven Security Shift Supervisor to manage on-duty security operations for a premier 24-story, 1.3 million-square-foot multi-purpose complex in Chicago’s River North area. Reporting directly to the Security Director, this role leads on-duty security officers, oversees access control and CCTV systems, and acts as a vital bridge between ownership, management, and the security team.

Responsibilities

Lead, direct, and motivate security officers during assigned shifts; Report directly to Site Supervisor/Director and/or Marksman/Titan Management; Ensure the Client Site is provided with high quality security services; Handle all escalated security issues or emergency situations; Develop staff in both technical and professional skills through performance management; Assist in the coordination and/or conduct site-specific on the job training, client-specific training and annual refresher training; Reconcile logs, shift responsibilities and patrols, review incident reports; Develop/maintain operational procedures and post orders; Maintain access control procedures set by building management; Utilize access control systems, visitor management systems and CCTV systems; Identify all tenants and/or visitors upon arrival; Ensure visitors and vendors are properly signed in prior to accessing the building; Observe departing personnel to guard against theft; Monitor security cameras; Respond to incidents including property emergencies; Conduct general patrols of the entire property during various hours; Ability to stand/sit/walk for extended periods; Assist tenants and visitors with directions and general business information; Record data such as property damage, unusual occurrences, and malfunctioning of equipment; Maintain clear, accurate logs pertaining to people or property including packages; Provide excellent Customer Service to all parties encountered while on duty; Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

High School diploma or GED; 3 years prior satisfactory employment as a security officer or directly related experience; at least 18 years of age; at least 2 years of continuous supervisory experience; valid security license if required by state; driver's license as applicable; ability to read, write, speak, and understand English; ability to pass pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check; must maintain a working telephone number; ability to stand for extended periods; ability to lift, push, and/or pull at least 50 lbs; ability to accommodate foot patrols on the interior and exterior of the assigned facility; ability to perform assigned duties regardless of inclement weather
