SEIU Environmental Svcs Worker

Performs general heavy and light cleaning and housekeeping services in University buildings such as residence halls, hospital, administration/academic buildings, etc.

Responsibilities

Performs general heavy and light cleaning and housekeeping services in University buildings; Operates housekeeping and floor maintenance machines and equipment; Strips, waxes, and buffs floors; Wet mops, dry mops, sweeps, and dusts floors; Cleans and disinfects rooms, walls, floors, furniture, and fixtures; Washes walls, ceilings, stairs, and windows; Empties wastebaskets and picks up trash; Maintains cleanliness of work storage closet and equipment; Performs other similar custodial duties as assigned

Requirements

Ability to understand and carry out oral instructions; Continuous standing, walking, bending, and reaching; Ability to handle heavy and medium-weight materials, equipment, and supplies; Ability to work in environments with refuse, dirt, dust, detergents, body wastes, odors, and possible exposure to infectious diseases
