SEIU Nutrition Assistant

Responsibilities

Assemble, serve, and collect all patient meals, between meal snacks and floor stock; Maintain sanitation of work areas and follow sanitary food practices at all times; Assemble and deliver patient trays for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner in a timely manner to ensure temperature retention; Pass all nourishments, fill water pitchers, pass tube feedings and infant formulas; Pass patient specific menus and assist with menu selection; Collect and submit completed patient menu selections and communicate patient preferences to the Diet Technician; Collect soiled meal trays and move soiled carts to elevator area; Record patients' intake and output, including food eaten and liquid consumed; Maintain floor stock levels through daily inventory and filling 'Blue Orders'; Supply late trays and substitute selections and adjust trays for diet order changes or new admissions; Perform assigned cleaning duties such as unit microwave, freezer, refrigerator and galley work surfaces; Check food temperature with a thermometer when microwaving trays; Assemble trays on the trayline and assist with limited food preparation, portioning and serving

Requirements

High School diploma; ability to understand, read, write and speak English; experience in a service environment; demonstrated ability to work independently; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
