Senior Estates Manager Mechanical

We're looking for a Senior Engineering Manager – Mechanical to lead engineering services across a complex healthcare environment, ensuring safe, compliant and high-performing estates delivery. You'll take ownership of engineering operations, leading teams to deliver planned and reactive maintenance while supporting critical clinical services. This is a senior leadership role where your expertise will shape strategy, manage risk, and drive continuous improvement across the estate.

Responsibilities

Lead and manage engineering maintenance and estates services, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and HTMs/HBNs; Oversee PPM, lifecycle planning and risk management to minimise disruption to clinical operations; Act as Authorised Person / Lead Authorised Person and ensure safe systems of work are followed; Build strong relationships with internal teams, NHS stakeholders and external partners; Drive performance, continuous improvement and value for money across engineering services

Requirements

Relevant engineering/FM qualifications (e.g. NEBOSH, IOSH, IWFM or equivalent); Significant experience in a senior technical leadership role within FM or healthcare environments; Strong knowledge of compliance, engineering standards and safe systems of work; Proven leadership skills with experience managing multidisciplinary engineering teams; Strong understanding of healthcare estates, PFI contracts and statutory compliance; Ability to manage risk, interpret technical data and implement strategic maintenance plans; Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills; A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with a commitment to service excellence
