Senior Mobile Engineer

Zero Homes is building a home upgrade marketplace that enables a simple, central, transparent process for homeowners and contractors. The Senior Mobile Engineer will build the future of the consumer mobile app, which enables homeowners to get a design and quote for their HVAC project without an in-person sales visit. This is an early-stage company; Senior Engineers are individual contributors that report to a Lead Engineer and work in small teams in six-week cycles.

Responsibilities

Build the future of the consumer mobile app; Own features end-to-end on both iOS and Android; Work in small teams (1 designer and 1-2 programmers) in six-week cycles; Take loosely defined projects and deliver new features; Make project-level design decisions; Operate effectively with minimal oversight; Report to a Lead Engineer

Requirements

Fluent on both iOS and Android; At least 5 years of professional software engineering experience; Meaningful time spent building native mobile applications that real users rely on; Strong opinions about AI in the mobile development loop; Agentic coding tools (Claude Code, Cursor, Codex) are a core part of how you work; Relentlessly customer-centric; Strong bias toward shipping and learning; Care deeply about observability; Experience with a product analytics platform (we use PostHog); Enthusiastic about in-person work; Live within 50 miles of Denver, CO or willing to relocate

Nice to have

Full stack experience - comfortable standing up backend services (push notification servers, lightweight APIs, Cloud Functions) to support mobile features without waiting on another team; Experience collaborating on creating and triaging REST APIs with backend counterparts; Experience at early-stage startups and/or fast-growing environments; Experience with on-device ML and AR (ARKit, ARCore); Experience with camera frameworks and computer vision; Math background or practical data science experience; Experience in climate tech
