Senior Structural Engineer

Responsible for supporting the Engineering/Operations team in maintaining the structural integrity of the Vertical Bridge tower portfolio.

Responsibilities

Support the Engineering/Operations team in maintaining the structural integrity of the Vertical Bridge tower portfolio; Coach and mentor a group of 4-6 engineers in completing structural analyses; Review structural analyses performed by Design Engineers; Work with the Director of Structural Engineering to implement training documents; Perform structural analysis on existing tower structures and foundations; Review foundation calculations; Perform seismic calculations; Design complex tower modifications; Guide engineers on analyzing existing antenna mounts; Review input information provided by Design Engineers; Serve as Engineer-of-Record for reviewed and signed sealed structural deliverables; Work with the Director of Structural Engineering to meet production targets and KPIs; Write professional engineering analysis, construction reports and peer reports; Stay current with standard changes; Represent Vertical Bridge on TIA sub-committees; Assist in coordination of managing vendors and construction timelines; Assist in coordination with outside consulting firms and tower crews; Utilize workflow process to communicate engineering analysis results; Assist with tower defect review process; Provide input to improve engineering department efficiency; Supervise and manage Design Engineers

Requirements

Four-year degree with emphasis in civil/structural engineering required; Minimum 5 years’ experience in structural engineering required; Registration as a professional engineer (PE) required; Knowledge in TNX Tower and RISA 3D software required; Knowledge with the various building codes and standards, IBC, TIA Rev I& H, ACI, ASCE – 7; Demonstrate the ability to multi-task and prioritize efficiently; Effective in an entrepreneurial culture, working independently and as part of a team

Nice to have

Master’s degree in Structural Engineering; Communication tower industry experience; Structural Engineer (SE) License; Additional foundation software knowledge
