Social Worker - Clinical - LCSW - FT - Mid-Shift - JCDH

The Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) provides advanced clinical social work services in support of the Emergency Department (ED) at Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital (JDCH), with expertise in high-risk psychosocial, behavioral health, and legally complex cases in the acute care setting. The LCSW manages a caseload and serves as a clinical expert and resource for cases requiring advanced social work interventions. This role utilizes specialized clinical knowledge and advanced clinical skills to provide comprehensive assessment and intervention related to medical, psychosocial, mental health, and behavioral health needs; patient and caregiver navigation; and discharge planning. The LCSW collaborates with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary care team to address complex needs and support safe, effective transitions of care.

Responsibilities

Provides advanced clinical social work services in support of the Emergency Department at Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital; Manages a caseload and serves as a clinical expert for cases requiring advanced social work interventions; Provides comprehensive assessment and intervention related to medical, psychosocial, mental health, and behavioral health needs; Collaborates with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary care team to address complex needs and support safe, effective transitions of care; May supervise and/or train new staff, students, and interns; Consults and collaborates with multidisciplinary transplant providers; Makes appropriate referrals to community agencies; Interviews and assesses patients, family, caregivers, and/or legal representatives; Performs comprehensive psychosocial assessments for applicable moderate or high-risk patients; Develops behavioral agreements with patient and/or families; Leads complex family meetings; Provides crisis intervention for patients and family members; Attends interdisciplinary rounds and identifies appropriate resources; Manages cases involving guardianship, abuse/neglect, ethical concerns, and legal involvement; Documents clinical assessments and interventions

Requirements

Masters: Social Work (Required); Licensed Clinical Social Worker (SW LICENSE) - State of Florida (FL); Minimum of two (2) years' post MSW experience in the related field; Previous experience working in a hospital setting; Critical thinking skills; Effective verbal and written communication skills; Decisive judgment; Ability to work with minimal supervision; Ability to work in a stressful and fast paced environment; Strong organizational/priority setting/multi-tasking skills; Ability to learn and apply large amounts of technical and procedural information
