Software Engineer (Python & React)

As a Software Engineer (Python & React), you will join an established technical environment supporting client-facing applications across international shipping and e-commerce operations. This is a mid-level, full-stack engineering role with a strong operational focus, combining hands-on development with production support, troubleshooting, and ongoing systems maintenance. You will work across the stack using Python on the backend and JavaScript/TypeScript with React and Next.js on the frontend, primarily within a Microsoft Azure environment.

Responsibilities

Support client-facing systems and applications; Troubleshoot and resolve incoming tickets, bugs, and system issues; Independently investigate technical problems and identify practical solutions; Own assigned tickets and issues through resolution; Communicate progress, blockers, and technical issues clearly with the broader team; Proactively identify additional work when ticket volume is low; Build, maintain, and support functionality across backend and frontend systems; Develop and maintain backend functionality using Python; Develop and maintain frontend functionality using JavaScript and TypeScript; Work with React and Next.js; Translate requirements and technical issues into reliable software solutions; Build and ship production software; Maintain existing production systems; Debug production issues and identify underlying causes; Address recurring system problems; Improve system reliability and maintainability; Learn existing systems and technical environments; Work within a Microsoft/Azure environment; Apply cloud experience to troubleshoot and maintain production systems; Use AI tools thoughtfully; Collaborate with the team; Work independently with minimal supervision; Take accountability for assigned work

Requirements

Available to work during U.S. business hours aligned with the client's time zone; 3–6 years of software engineering experience or equivalent hands-on experience; Experience working across full-stack applications in production environments; Experience building and shipping production software; Experience maintaining and supporting existing production systems; Experience independently troubleshooting bugs, tickets, and system issues; Strong Python development skills; Strong JavaScript and TypeScript experience; React and Next.js frontend development; Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure; Ability to independently debug production issues, investigate unfamiliar systems, and develop practical solutions with minimal supervision; Experience maintaining existing software systems; Ability to work effectively across frontend and backend systems; Strong problem-solving skills and ability to quickly learn unfamiliar technical environments; Ability to clearly communicate technical progress, blockers, and issues; Comfortable using AI-assisted development tools thoughtfully

Nice to have

Experience with .NET and C#; Experience working with ERP systems; E-commerce experience involving order management, tracking, shipping, or related workflows; Experience with Shopify; Experience within third-party logistics, logistics, or shipping environments; Familiarity with international shipping, carriers, shipment tracking, customs, duties, or related systems; AWS experience; Experience incorporating GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude, ChatGPT, or similar AI tools into development workflows
