Sous Chef

Searcys are looking for a Sous Chef to join the team at the Barber-Surgeons‘ Hall.

As our Sous Chef, your role will play an integral part in ensuring the smooth running of all aspects of the catering operation.

Founded in July 2024, Searcys Events Liveries is a dedicated team bringing excellence and passion to the Livery Halls of the City of London. Our mission is to create outstanding experiences for every guest, built on the values of care, respect, and excellence in service.

The Sous Chef at the Barber-Surgeons‘ Hall will work hands on for the operational productivity of the kitchen department and its operational standards.

Salary: £45,000

Responsibilities

To ensure weekly hall menus are developed and improved upon on a regular basis.; To oversee and assist in the preparation and presentation of all meals and service across Events.; To oversee, manage and lead catering functions.; To organise sections stock and ingredients, both preparation and stock holding.; Keep record of food production volumes, waste, stock holding and food cost concerns.; To assist the Executive Chef and Head Chef with future menu creations.; To manage and motivate the team.

Requirements

Be driven by people and delivering the highest quality of food.; Exemplary kitchen management practices and being an ambassador for Searcys legacy brand.; Innovative and inspiring culinary ideas for events and restaurant menus.; Support Exec/Head Chef in creating a professional working environment for the team ensuring that company standards are maintained and that Client expectations are met.; Previous experience as a Sous Chef in Events, Hotel or high end restaurants.; Excellent mentoring and communication skills.; Able to demonstrate your analytical approach to problem solving and excellent understanding of Health and Safety practices.
