Staff Physician, Ophthalmology – Specialty in Oculoplastics (part-time)

The Department of Ophthalmology and Doheny Eye Center at UCLA are seeking a junior to mid-level Ophthalmologist to support the Doheny Eye Center in Fountain Valley, at 40% time.

Responsibilities

Support the Doheny Eye Center in Fountain Valley at 40% time; Clinical Evaluations: Conduct comprehensive examinations for patients with ophthalmic disease focusing on periorbital diseases, ptosis, thyroid eye disease, and facial trauma; Reconstructive Surgery: Perform complex surgeries such as entropion/ectropion corrections, orbital decompressions, socket reconstruction, and tear duct (dacryocystorhinostomy) procedures; Cosmetic Procedures: Execute functional and cosmetic blepharoplasty, brow lifts, and aesthetic facial injections (e.g., Botox, dermal fillers); Patient Care: Develop personalized treatment plans, manage pre-operative and post-operative care, and order diagnostic tests like CT or MRI scans

Requirements

MD or DO; Board-eligible or board-certified in Ophthalmology; Completion of an ACGME-accredited ophthalmology residency; Active/Eligible California medical license; Advanced microsurgical skills, an in-depth understanding of the periorbital anatomy, and high aesthetic precision
