Staff Software Engineer

Compliance is a $50B global problem, and we are rewriting how it’s solved. We are looking for high-agency engineers who have the passion to own the problem, the solution and the outcome - from system design through analysing adoption, solving complex problems along the way. As a Staff Engineer, you won’t just be 'working on a codebase', you'll lead the development of end-to-end features, architecting how our AI insights are surfaced to users and ensuring the system is robust, fast, and intuitive. You'll architect and design our platform to keep us lean and robust as we scale. You'll be a technical leader and the go-to person as we make strategic and tactical tech decisions. Together, we'll build a delivery platform purpose-built to enable agentic code development in safety.

Responsibilities

Lead the development of end-to-end features, architecting how AI insights are surfaced to users and ensuring the system is robust, fast, and intuitive; Architect and design the platform to keep it lean and robust as we scale; Be a technical leader and go-to person for strategic and tactical tech decisions; Build a delivery platform purpose-built to enable agentic code development in safety; Take full accountability for features from initial discovery with product team to deployment and monitoring; Challenge 'why' and 'how' to deliver the best possible solutions for users and outcomes for the business; Move seamlessly between crafting polished responsive interfaces and developing scalable complex systems; Champion clean pragmatic architecture and use agentic coding with a 'ship fast, but never broken' mentality; Lead by example, fuelling a culture of passion, curiosity, and continuous improvement

Requirements

Proven at Staff or Senior level: own initiatives end to end, provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers, raise the bar on what good looks like; Pragmatic Architect: track record of operating SaaS solutions at scale, making intentional trade-offs to build systems that are simple to operate and resilient over the long term; Product Mindset: driven by impact, not just lines of code, care about the business problem; Accountability-First: when saying 'I've got this,' the team knows it's as good as done; Deep Full-Stack Experience: proven track record of building and scaling modern web applications; Curious & Adaptable: stay ahead of the curve in AI and web tech; ability to think like a product owner, obsession with quality, and drive to move the needle for users; deep experience in React, Vue, Node, or Go and understanding how to build reliable, scalable web apps
