Staffing Coordinator

Per diem position at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital, House Supervisors department. Part time status with 12-hour shifts (9am-9:30pm), requiring flexibility to assist with weekday, weekend and holiday coverage as needed. Coordinates staffing needs across hospital units, works with staff and float pool, and manages outside agency assistive personnel.

Responsibilities

Creatively tries to fill staffing needs; Reviews staffing needs with units and works with staff to fill them with available staff; Helps staff problem-solve staffing shortages or excesses; Directly contacts float pool staff for additional availability; Works collaboratively with staff and Administrative Coordinator to minimize staff impact and meet patient needs; Gathers information about staffing needs, including listening to reports, communicating with Charge RNs, reviewing nursing office staffing documentation, and handling sick calls and admission/discharge needs; Integrates staffing needs with available staffing and assigns available staff; Documents assignments and notifies appropriate personnel; Works with outside agencies to provide assistive personnel, verifies their qualifications, and communicates performance issues
